Vancouver 1982: An Original Pointillism Drawing | H E Kuckein 1930 – 2015

Current bid: $5,000.00

This magnificent original drawing of Vancouver as it was in 1982, was produced by architect and one of Canada’s important contemporary artists, H. E. (Ebe) Kuckein.

Drafted by hand from an aerial photograph, this pointillism drawing took more than 1,700 hours and over one year to complete.  Kuckein used extremely fine technical pens with India ink on illustration board to produce this work of art.

The entire image, which is 28 inches high and 38 inches wide, is comprised entirely of tiny dots. There are literally tens of millions of them, with neither a straight line nor the application of solid ink to be seen. The detail is simply amazing.
This priceless piece is truly one of a kind.

All proceeds from this auction will be going to Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon.
